In northern Myanmar only the women of the Intha, the "people of the Lake", have the ability to produce the most expensive material in the world, the Lotus silk, out of the fibers of the water plant Lotus. For one yard of fabric 10,000 stems and one week working time are needed. For this reason Lotus Silk is the most expensive fabric in the world. It is the material of Buddha, made from the plant, which is dedicated to him. The film shows the female weavers and their families who produce a fabric which they are not even allowed to wear themselves.
