THE UFFIZI IN FLORENCE, ITALY

The Freiburg art historian Eike Schmidt has become the new director of one of the most famous museums in the world, the Uffizi in Florence. The former office building for the authorities of the Medicis experienced with Schmidt its most radical modernization since the 16th century. In an entertaining way the film accompanies the "Schmidt-Age" for twelve months, always close to the new director, and illuminates the intense and sometimes curious relationship between the Freiburg modernizer and his time-honored art temple.
